Tracking activities with Chrome extension

Once the Spendbase Chrome Extension is installed and activated, it streams the app usage data described above directly into your Spendbase platform. As a Team Admin, you can monitor this data in several key areas of the platform:

1. Applications Page (Apps Grid)

  • Navigate to the Applications page, where you'll see a list of all the apps your team is using.
  • In the Last Used column, you can view recent usage data, updated in real-time, from various sources including the Chrome extension. This ensures that you have the most up-to-date information on when your employees last used specific apps.

2. Detailed User Activities (Per App)

  • Click on any app within the grid to open a detailed view.
  • Under the User Activities tab, you can see a breakdown of app usage by each employee in your organization.
  • The Last Activity column shows the most recent login data for each user, with information pulled from the Chrome extension as one of the data sources. This allows you to track individual user engagement with each app.

3. Shadow IT Detection (Newly Discovered Apps)

  • Even if an app hasn’t been tracked before, as soon as any employee logs into a new app using their corporate account, it will automatically be added to your list of apps.
  • This feature, often referred to as Shadow IT detection, helps you identify unapproved or unknown apps being used within your organization. You can then review these new apps and decide whether they comply with your company’s policies.

This functionality helps you maintain complete oversight of your company’s app usage, ensuring better control over SaaS adoption and usage
