1. Identity Providers

Overview: Identity providers (IdPs) like Google Workspace and Microsoft form the backbone of your SaaS audit with Spendbase. By connecting these providers, you gain immediate visibility into all SaaS applications accessed by you employess via SSO sign ups/-ins. (with corporate account)

Benefits:

• Quick Discovery: Instantly catalog your entire SaaS stack.
• User Insights: Understand who is using what and their login activity
  

Note: Identity providers are limited to tracking SSO logins only.

2. Direct API Integrations with Apps

Overview: Regular SaaS integrations are essential as they fill gaps left by other methods. They are more comprehensive, monitoring all app activities regardless of sign-ins, which is crucial for software that keeps sessions open without requiring frequent logins. Use it as a complement to Identity providers and browser extension

Benefits:

• Enhanced accuracy: track members activity, capturing more than just user logins. Any activity within the app will be recorded as a fact, providing a comprehensive usage view. So we don't recognise what exactly member did but just a fact he/she showed any form of activity in the app.
• Subscription information: access the detailed info like subscription plan, number of paid seats, subscription plan a particular member is. It's only available if the app provides such data in their public API
  

3. Browser Extension

Overview: The Spendbase browser extension captures SaaS usage data directly from web activity, offering another layer of insight, especially for web-based applications not covered by direct integrations or IdPs

Benefits:

• Comprehensive tracking: closes the IdP's gap in tracking employees sign ups/ins with SSO. With extension we will track sign-ins with password  to any app from Google Chrome browser using corporate email
• User-Friendly: easy to install and manage, requiring minimal user intervention because it even allows to automatically install it to your employees Chrome browser
  

NOTE: personal usage will be ignored. We track only by corporate email account sign-ins
