      Uploading apps via CSV file

      Transitioning to Spendbase for comprehensive SaaS management can be smooth and efficient, especially if you’re migrating from another system where your software and license data is stored in spreadsheet formats like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Spendbase allows you to upload your existing SaaS stack directly via a CSV file.

      Preparing Your CSV File

      Before uploading your data to Spendbase, you'll need to ensure that your data is properly formatted and saved as a CSV file. Here’s what to do:

      1. Organize Your Data: Arrange your application data in a spreadsheet with clear headings for each column, such as App Name, Owner, Department, Pricing plan, Quantity, Price, etc.
      2. Export to CSV: Once your data is organized, export the spreadsheet to a CSV file. In Google Sheets, you can do this by clicking File > Download > Comma-separated values (.csv). In Microsoft Excel, choose File > Save As and select CSV from the file format options.

      Uploading the CSV File to Spendbase

      Spendbase makes the upload process intuitive:

      1. Navigate to Application page
      2. Click Upload CSV
      3. Select Applications import sub-option
      4. Map fields: literally match the field names from your file onto the similar fields in SB
      5. Confirm upload: Spendbase processes the CSV file, uploading the data and automatically adding new applications or updating existing ones in your account.
      6. There you go!

      It may take just a little time to upload all apps but usually it occurs in the matter of seconds.
      After the upload, review the applications in your Spendbase applications grid to ensure everything has been integrated as expected. You can make manual adjustments if necessary.

       
      NOTE: if you had the applications in the grid before - no worries we will update only empty fields per a particular app after uploading. No complete override of the data
       
      Important! If you have multiple pricing plan per one application in your CSV file we'd strongly recommend to split such plans into separate row in the file (you can duplicate the original row and change the pricing plan field only)
